The Sitka Sound Science Center, formed upon SJ(C?)'s closure will receive $250,000.00 from the state of Alaska to further organizational objectives. Members include former SJ(C) faculty and staff including Keith Cox, Scott Harris, Kitty LaBounty, and Marissa Chelius.

This is indeed great news! Another piece of SJ has been saved, to continue the educational mission of Sheldon Jackson. I am personaly proud to be a part of the hatchery program, and dedicate myself to its survival, long into the future. Long live the SJ Hatchery program!!
I know there are a lot of critters in Sitka Sound that have little to do with the Hatchery program but where would the salmon fishing be without it?
Congratulations, it's good to hear something positive.
