It looks like SJ somehow pulled together the money to pay former employees. Yesterday several final paychecks were mailed out to laid off employees. Keep your eyes on your incoming mail to see if you get the same nice surprise that I got.
Perhaps I am the only one not to see a severance check. Does anyone have a phne contact for Chilkat and or what ever is left of SJ(?)? I would at least like to ask a live person.
It is sad to see this happen to SJC. I have had the pleasure of working on summer voluteer maintenance projects, including my last tour with Marcel leading the department. I found the experiences rewarding and felt we accompished something. If there is no way to restore the School to it's former service I hope the historical features will be preserved.
